3. Feature: Hole Searcher (Free)
Quickly scan your workpiece to view all hole information.
- Ensure you have activated the desired Setup.
- Click the Hole Searcher button.
- Review the summary report showing hole counts and sizes (categorized by Simple, Counterbore, Tap).
4. Feature: Hole Maker
The core engine for automated Toolpath generation.
- Material Preset: Select your workpiece material (program will calculate Feed/Speed automatically).
- Tool Library: Select the library containing your drills (Micron Tools Library is installed by default).
Select Operations:
- Drilling:
- Spot Drill + Deep Drill.
- The program selects drilling operations based on available tool sizes. For example, for a 5.2mm hole, a 5.2mm drill must exist in your library.
- Tapping (H6): Creates a standard drilling operation (Center Drill / Drill) separate from normal holes before tapping.
- Thread Cutting:
- Selects a Thread Mill tool matching the hole's pitch.
- Prioritizes the largest possible tool diameter that fits within the hole.
- If both Thread Cutting + Tapping (H6) are selected, Tap operations are created only for holes smaller than the "Min Thread Cut Size".
- Bore Milling:
- For Counterbore holes only.
- Creates Bore Milling operations for holes smaller than the defined "Rough Endmill" diameter. (e.g., if holes are 8mm/15mm/20mm and Rough Endmill is 10mm, operation is created for 15mm and 20mm holes).
- Chamfer 45°:
- Uses G82 cycle.
- Applies only to holes smaller than the selected Chamfer tool diameter.
Click OK to instantly generate Toolpaths in your Setup.
5. Feature: Manage Materials
Customize Feeds & Speeds formulas for your machine.
- Vc (Surface Speed): Cutting speed (m/min).
- Fz / Fn: Feed per tooth or per revolution.
- Drilling Feed Tiers: Define Feed Per Revolution based on drill diameter (e.g.,
2:0.03, 6:0.08 means drills under 2mm use 0.03, under 6mm use 0.08).
To create a new material, simply type a new name in "Material Name" and adjust values (no need to click Select Material to Edit). The new material will appear in the Hole Maker dropdown.
To edit an existing material, select it from the dropdown first.
Click Save and Close to save changes.
*To delete a custom material, select it and click Delete/Reset. (Default built-in materials cannot be deleted but will be reset to factory values).
